New Monthly Challenge!!!!
It's simple...for each layout, card, altered project you make, look at the elements/techniques/theme and assign it a letter....for example..did you use BUTTONS? Then you could put the link down for B...if the layout was HALLOWEEN, then you could put the link for H!
Come check it out.... http://www.theshakerbox.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=11346

October Kit preview
So the cardstock and the Patterned paper and the black flowers (who would have thought black flowers....but they look so good with the paper in the kit) are all from the kit.
Also we have lots of fun challenges going on over at the Shaker Box . Hurry and check out the Menu Challenge that Alli has posted this month. She listed a whole bunch of different kind of Candy and you have to choose five of those - kinda like Trick or Treating. You can have as many bags as you like - and in the next day or two - Alli will post which items go with which candy and thats what you will use to create your Layout! Sound fun?? Go check it out soon before the list is posted!

Inspire Me! Thursday
This weeks inspirations comes from an idea book that I have. I have a bunch on my shelf, but tend to ignore them! The idea book that I am using is Autumn Leaves "designing with paper'. (if you have it...turn to page 47). My example is below, and I will post the layout that I am using it on later!
So, the challenge is to make a tag like this AND use it on a layout or card! I chose a heart, but you can use any shape (heart, flower, star, xmas tree). All you need is a tag, some scrap cs to back it and adhere all of the little dots that you punch out of scrap paper with your hole punch!! A little glue, faux or real stitching and voila'! I'll be posting my LO a little later!

Yesterday was my 65th birthday and I had a great day! DH & I drove about 2 1/2 hrs. to have lunch at a little diner that was featured a few weeks ago on the Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives show (check it out at www.hullabaloodiner.com. Love that show, the host travels across the US and stops at all the neat off the beaten track restaurants. This one happened to be close enough to check out. We had the most amazing lunch, DH had chicken fried steak and I had an Italian Sausage with grilled green peppers and onions on a Kaiser roll. DH ended up eating most of his and half of mine. For dessert they had Cheesecake all the way from New York, WOW! Needless to say we suffered all the way home from overeating. Took a few pics so will definitely be a page for our album.
Please stop by The Shaker Box and check out the upcoming October Shaker Kit, it is loaded with all sorts of goodies. Take a Sneak Peek at: http://www.theshakerbox.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/20355/sort/2/cat/861/page/1]. Hope to see you there!

Here is a quick page for you from the charity collaboration kit that I coordinated - Children's Rainbow of Hope. The kit can be purchased at The Shaker Box.
The proceeds from the kit will benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Family Resource Center at Children’s Hospital. The Center is building a scrapbooking program for patient families, as a means to document the treatment and recovery process or to serve as a respite from the rigors of a hospital stay. Share your love of scrapbooking and purchase Children’s Rainbow of Hope today!

Happy Fall!
It's a busy time at The Shaker Box too! Another digital kit went on sale in the online store this week. It's a charity kit. By purchasing the kit you can share your love of scrapbooking with families at Children's Hospital. Be sure to stop by and check it out http://theshakerbox.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=39&osCsid=8a9b682de706748bf1318839b38058db
This week's Do-it Digi Challenge is already up. You know how the crisp fall air makes you want to snuggle up with something soft?! This week, use some warm textures in a layout - think corduroy, velvet, suede and felt. Not sure where to start? You can find actions for velvet and felt at Atomic Cupcake (and I've seen lots of felt embellishments everywhere). There is a suede action at DigiScrapDesigner. I've also got a corduroy texture plate from Atomic Cupcake.
Have fun with it! Make sure to share your layout in the gallery at The Shaker Box so we can leave you some love! I can't wait to see what you create!
Not a digital scrapbooker? Want to try a hybrid layout? Here is a little freebie that I created to coordinate with the September kit. Try layering the frame on a picture before you print it and printing the word art on vellum. There is a paper that can be printed as well. Enjoy!

Good Monday Morning, October 1, 2006
Busy weekend for us, nothing great just a ton of running here and there. We did manage to have a great relaxing dinner Sunday at The Texas Roadhouse (steaks are awesome).
Not too busy week ahead, today have the appointment with Cancer Therapy doctor and will find out what kinid and how much I will be needing. Today also marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, remember to schedule those mammograms. I've been having them yearly for years and this year they caught a very small tumor in my right breast. Even the doctor was unable to feel it which made me feel better because I'm not real good about the monthly self-exams (do them ladies).
You all need to go over and check out Monday-Greetings from the Heart. Just posted a new sketch and sample, this month I am challenging everyone to make a few Halloween and Fall cards. There might be a small RAK for the person who posts the most Halloween and Fall cards using the sketch. Check it Out!
Here's is todays sketch: http://www.theshakerbox.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/20407 and my sample: http://www.theshakerbox.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/20408/password/0/sort/2/cat/500/page/1. Have fun and while you are visiting check out the sneak peek of Octobers Shaker Kit.
Have a great day!
